Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox went to the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 70s. She took a course in harpsichord as well as the flautist piano for 3 years. The money she earned came from a student allowance and took off on a part-time job to supplement her budget. Lennox made the decision to alter her career path after she became dissatisfied by her lack of skill in comparison with others Royal Academy students. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. But she quit when the band was featured to I.T.V.s talent show New Faces. From 1977 to 1980, she was the singer-songwriter for The Tourists, a British pop group. It was during this time that she came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form Pop duo Eurythmics. After that, Lennox began working on her solo first album Diva which was released in 1992. It was a massive hit both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo album came out in November of 2014. The C.D. The C.D. is comprised of Lennox's most loved blues, jazz and soul songs from her youth. Lepidoptera is a collection of four improvised tracks for piano that Lennox has released in May 2019. The E.P. is a companion piece of her artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You Go... It's the first time she has released an independent album. Annie Lennox (born December 25, 1954) is a Scottish politician and singer. After minor recognition as part of the new wave band The Tourists in the late 1970s she and fellow musician Dave Stewart went on to become internationally renowned as the duo known as Eurythmics during the 1980s. Lennox's 1992 debut album Diva featured a number of hit tracks, such as Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa her 1995 studio album includes cover versions of tracks such asNo MoreI I Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. Her six studio solo albums and her compilation album contain a variety of songs. |
